We had a great time at the City Problem Solvers Annual Award Ceremony last year, and we would like to say thank you to everyone who attended, and who made it possible.

City Problem Solvers Awards Categories

City Problem Solver of the Year Award

This year’s City Problem Solver of the Year Award will be given to an extraordinary person who, over the years, has shown remarkable dedication, hard work, and determination to make a meaningful impact and provide much-needed support in the lives of others.

Jr. City Problem Solver of the Year Award

This year’s Jr City Problem Solver of the Year Award is recognizing a young adult who has demonstrated a genuine concern for society, and is actively involved in community volunteer work to make a meaningful and positive improvement in the life of others.

SAPD First Responder of the Year Award

This year’s SAPD First Responder of the Year Award will be given to an officer recognized by the community as someone who has demonstrated true caring service towards others while standing up, and sometimes in harms way for the needs of the community.

SAFD First Responder of the Year Award

This year’s SAFD First Responder of the Year Award will be given to a member of the Fire Department that has gone above and beyond the call of duty to set a good example of how it is often important to put the needs of others above our own.

Retired Military Veteran of the Year Award

This year’s Retired Military Veteran of the Year Award will be given to a Retired Military Veteran who is being recognized for their outstanding service to our country and their continued dedication to improving the lives of the people within their communities.

Public Service Organization of the Year Award

This year’s Public Service Organization of the Year Award will be given to a Public Service Organization that is serving their communities in a very needed, and important way that plays a direct role in the health and wellbeing of those who are being served.

CPS Community Engagement  & Support Award

The CPS Community Engagement & Support Award is presented to an individual or an organization whose dedication, service, support,  and leadership make a meaningful impact on their communities. Their efforts set an inspiring example of how we can support one another and help strengthen our communities.

Environmental Organization of the Year Award

This award recognizes an organization or community group making a meaningful impact in environmental protection and stewardship. The recipient may be honored for efforts such as raising environmental awareness, advocating for responsible environmental practices, reducing pollution, supporting remediation efforts, or engaging communities in actions that advance a healthier environment.

City Problem Solver Educator of the Year Award

This year’s City Problem Solver Educator of the Year Award is being presented to an educator who has shown dedication to their students and community, helping them grow and succeed in meaningful ways. This award honors someone who motivates students to be engaged learners and thoughtful citizens who strive to make a positive impact in the world around them.

City Problem Solver K – 12th Grade Essay Award

The City Problem Solver K-12th Grade Essay Award is given to students that have written about one of 8 topics that are about how and why it is important to develop and have morally good personal qualities in life.

*Why it is important to do your best to work hard, and always try to be a good person.

*Why it’s important to accept responsibility for your mistakes in life when they happen.

*How to choose to take the good paths in life and how to get there without cheating.

*What is a clever way to deescalate a bad situation without appearing to be a loser.

*Why it is important to be, and what does it mean to be a City Problem Solver.

*Why it is important to be a person that will always try to tell the truth in life.

*How to be a person that will stand up and care for someone in trouble.

*What are some of the most important qualities in life and why.

Do you know of an organization that we should know about?

We need to say thank you to people and organizations for when they have done something good, and at the same time, that lets others see that good deeds do get recognized, something that needs to happen more often.

We are always on the lookout for acts of greatness that need to be recognized and rewarded, so if you know someone who you think has done something great in this city please let us know. It can be a local resident, business owner, city official or employee, or a school student or teacher that is doing something great in the city to help make it be better in some extra special way.
